GATANGU WATERFALLS CHASE TREK

Gatango Forest bathing tour is one of the best hiking trails in Kenya located at Muranga and Nyeri County border; it is part of Aberdare National Park. It is about 148km north of Nairobi. Gatango trail neighbors Kihuri and Mucharage to the north. The beauty of this place will blow your mind.  It is an excellent spot for adrenaline junkies. Wet abseiling can be done here.

Gatangu Waterfall hiking trail starts at Mucharage Karadi in mucharage village. Karandi is a local name for the Forest Guard outpost hence, the Mucharage Karandi starting point. This trail gets its name from one of the magical waterfalls of Aberdare ranges and one of the region’s biggest waterfalls; Gatangu Waterfalls. Gatangu waterfalls are also known as Gatango waterfalls. Mucharage is one of the forest blocks that join Mathioya, Kihuri, Thuti, and Njigari Forest blocks, and Kihuri Forest to form Zuti Forest, a section of Aberdares in the south. The locals popularly know it as Thuti Forest. The trail is 14.65 kilometres (9.1 Miles) Kilometres with an elevation of 2586 M (8484.252 ft). Kenya Wildlife Service manages the forest alongside Community Forest Association (CFA) to enhance forest sustainability.
